Passion Blog Ideas

Which am I MORE passionate about?

Self-expression or understanding international cultures?

“Live your life with abandon.”

To live your life with reason AND to be happy seems like the perfect goal. Whether you’re into politics, how the earth was created, or food, there’s a reason as to why you’re here. So many people struggle with the idea of finding their true selves or to find their inner passion. The first way to figure out how to find your passion in life is to accept who you are and why you are that way. Once you are comfortable with yourself, then you can begin to express yourself and share your passion and views with anyone willing to listen. In choosing to blog about self-expression and happiness, I will talk about ways to find yourself and ways to be happy, etc.

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” -Audre Lorde

To understand cultures around the world will open so many doors in life. It’s not only important to realize how cultures are different but also important to realize how cultures are the same. Today many people say things are wrong and unreasonable just because they don’t understand it and don’t take the time to understand and absorb it. Understand that the world is bigger than you. Knowing about different traditions and cultures enhances our outlooks on life. It makes it possible for people of all ages to feel comfortable in such a diverse world. Also, learning to accept that “different” is never a bad thing opens or eyes in so many ways. In choosing to blog about understanding international cultures and traditions I will explore many different cultures and how they are different and similar.

  1. I think going further with the second idea about recognizing and understanding differences between cultures would be very interesting. It would be great to learn more about other cultures and how they compare and contrast to the ones I may be more familiar with.

  3. I would suggest enhancing your second idea only because as I read it. It felt like a lot more passion. I also would suggest you using the second option because you would definitely have a lot of resources to look at for help if you ever find yourself with writers block.

  5. I think you should choose one of the ideas to focus on. By choosing both I believe the ideas won't be conveyed as passionately. Both are great ideas although the second one seemed to hold my attention more.

  6. I personally think your topic is bit vague. When I saw your title, I thought you were talking about understanding international culture, but 2nd paragraph is more like "accepting those who are different." Although I can assume that your topic is "accepting those who are different by understanding the international culture", you should clarify that.

  7. Both ideas are great, however both seem to be a bit vague at the moment, but that could just because I don't understand them well enough yet. I think the second idea is the better of the two, simply because there would be so much more for you to write about and your weekly topics would be much more focused. With international cultures it will be easy to choose a single topic each week and write about it in depth. However, with the inner passion blog, I feel like it will be very difficult to focus on individual topics.

  8. Ryann, both ideas have potential. The self-exploration topic could be personal and relevant, but I agree with earlier commenters who've noted that it's slightly broad. If you choose this approach, you'll want to be able to focus it enough that each individual post has a specific angle/niche. (This will avoid being too broad, vague, or repetitive.)

The second topic might also run into similar repetition if each post boils down to a "accept everyone's differences" lesson.

Now, those cautions aside, with some tweaking and specificity, I sense you could make either topic more focused and workable.

Essentially, after thinking about how you might refine each approach, go with your gut. Which one are you truly more passionate about: understanding yourself or understanding outside cultures? Your answer will help you determine that route you might want to take.
